Artist's Description
In Rockefeller Centre at New York City, this giant 2-ton statue of Atlas holding the world on his shoulders, made in 1936, by Lee Lawrie and Rene Chambellan: Atlas as he is known from Greek mythology, is a Titan giant whose job is to hold up the world and with the St Patrick Cathedral in the background as to offers the world a moment of silence and peace. Watercolor on Arches 90lb rough paper. 24"x36".
About Alfred Ng
I was born in Hong Kong and grow up in Toronto, Canada. When I was about three years old, I came upon my teenager neighbor practicing her Chinese ink painting which lighted my interests and I started to paint and draw to amuse myself. My childhood interests stay with me and never left me. Everyday, after school all my spare time were spent making art. In 1973 our family moved to Canada and I attended and graduated from Central Technical School and Ontario College of Art and Design University. For the last 25 years, I working full time as an artist.
