Description
Every morning down at the hutong area near where I was staying in Beijing, a large open market takes place at the intersection among the alley streets there.. Framers from outside the city would bring in the fresh produce to sell. They would have them spread out on the road and attracts many shoppers within the neighborhood.
At first, I was mainly want to take some photos but the produce were so fresh and plentiful, I end up shopping there almost every morning. There were fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and even fishes and the prices were very reasonable than the supermarket I go to.
Most of the shoppers came with the bicycles or shopping carts, majority of the sellers were sensors some even brought their dogs with them. They would ride in the basket on the bicycle. Often, the sellers would call out the prices of the produce and the freshness of their produce to attract customers. Some days, the crowd was so large it took a long time to walk through the whole market.
One day, I saw this toddler on the back of a small open truck, brought in from one of the farmer. It was his temporary playpen at least for the morning. His parents were busy selling their produce. Although he was wearing a pink jacket but with his shaved head I think he is a boy. The pink jacket was likely a hand me down from a elder sister. He was eating a cookie but his attention was all fixed on the action around him.

Thanks for the story. I wonder what was going through his little mind...though we don't really know that the little people have little minds! I l like that I was focused on him and not the beautiful yellow. Pity he didn't have one of your brilliant flowers in his hand or somewhere on his jacket etc. I wonder what life has in store for him?
