your teach was right! yes, I don't use white paint either, they are just the white from the paper. the background was done with wet on wet.

Hi Alfred, can't express how beautiful this is... Really loved the detailed work in front of the undetailed background.. Like a photograph!!! The white portion on the flower, is it the white paint or the paper white? My teacher told me, never to use white paint in watercolor...
